When should i arrive at the airport?

Please arrive 3 hours prior to your scheduled departure for your outbound and returning flight

What should i expect at the airport?

1. Arrival at the Airport

  • Disembarkation: Upon landing, passengers exit the plane either via a jet bridge or a shuttle bus to the terminal.

2. Immigration

If you have not done so already, please complete the E-ticket below. THIS IS REQUIRED TO BOARD YOUR FLIGHT. YOUR AIRLINE MAY ALSO SEND YOU A LINK. THIS IS THE SAME PROGRAM BELOW AND YOU ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE ONCE

The Dominican Republic is currently NOT accepting paper forms. Please complete this electronic tourist ticket. Please note only one QR code is issued per family. If you are traveling with another family member, please select so at the start of the application. Your airline may send you the same link, but you only need to complete this form once.

  • Important Tips for E-Ticket:

    • Complete the form for all travelers in your party.

    • You will receive one QR code (downloadable as a PDF).

    • You can complete arrival and departure requirements at the same time.

    • Save the QR code on your phone and/or print a copy.

    • You are no longer required to complete it within 72 hours of departure; you may complete it anytime before your trip.

  • Entry Process:
    Entering the Dominican Republic is a two-step process:

    1. Immigration: After exiting the aircraft, you’ll be processed by immigration.

    2. Customs: Collect your checked baggage at the baggage claim, and proceed to Customs. Have your QR code ready for inspection.

3. Baggage Claim

  • After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim to collect any checked luggage.

4. Customs

  • You’ll hand in your customs declaration and show your QR code from the electronic form. Most passengers go through without additional checks.

5. Exiting the Airport

  • Transportation: After Customs, head to the arrivals hall and follow your itinerary to locate your transportation. Avoid anyone offering transportation or timeshares that aren’t pre-arranged.

Returning to the USA

Upon landing back in the United States you will be processed through immigration and customs. If you have a connecting flight you will need to collect any baggage and recheck your checked luggage with the airline. You will then need to go through security again and locate your departing gate.

To avoid missing your connection, avoid checking bags if possible.
